"This is Just to Say" by William Carlos Williams is written as an apology note in which the speaker compares the “so sweet and so cold” plums in the icebox to her life being good and bad, sweet and cold.

E.e. cummings' poem “[l(a]” is a work of art showing that a leaf ‘s fall is proportional to loneliness because it shows the death of the leaf, the coming to end of a season, and the arrival of evident change.
